With harvest season picking up across Indiana, it’s important to recognize our farmers who work year-round to feed our families and fuel our economy. That’s why the Indiana General Assembly works consistently to pass legislation supporting our agricultural community.
In 2024, the General Assembly passed a law prohibiting the purchase of any farmland by companies of foreign adversaries. In 2026, I voted to expand this law and prohibit foreign adversary businesses from purchasing any land anywhere in Indiana.
I also supported laws this year that cut red tape and provide tax relief for farmers.
Agriculture is a critical industry in our state, and as your state senator, I believe we have a responsibility to ensure our Hoosier farmers have our support.
Farmers will be out on rural roads more as fall arrives, so it is important for Hoosier motorists to remain vigilant and remember to safely approach slow, large equipment and know when you can and cannot pass.
