Submitted by Senator Randy Maxwell

The federal government has approved a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of Indiana, which allows federal funds to be used to help communities recover from recent flooding.

In Senate District 43, Dearborn County is eligible to receive disaster relief resources from FEMA.

With this approval, those affected by flooding in these counties are now eligible to apply for individual assistance. This includes care and emergency assistance, unemployment assistance, legal services and other important recovery services.

To apply, call 1-800-621-3362, or visit www.disasterassistance.gov.
